Curated in collaboration with Barbati Bertolissi, these guided walking tours explore Milan Design Week 2026 through three distinct itineraries, each designed to reflect different atmospheres, districts, and approaches to contemporary design.
The first tour moves through the elegant streets between the Quadrilatero and Porta Venezia, in one of Milan’s most refined and historic residential districts. This area reveals a more intimate and decorative side of design, where projects are presented inside sophisticated interiors and curated environments.
The second tour unfolds in the Missori area, within the southern edge of Milan’s historic center, where iconic architecture and institutional buildings meet a dynamic mix of cultural and design spaces. Here, installations are set within striking landmarks and evolving urban contexts, creating a dialogue between heritage and experimentation.
The third tour focuses on the 5VIE district, one of the most experimental hubs of Milan Design Week. Rich in history yet forward-looking, it hosts immersive, research-driven installations that explore materiality, craftsmanship, and new creative languages.
This walking tour unfolds through one of Milan’s most elegant districts, where historic palazzi and refined storefronts frame a sequence of curated design experiences. It begins at Nilufar, where the home is reimagined as a ritual environment, with collectible pieces acting as contemporary talismans that embody stories, archetypes, and symbolic meanings.
The tour then enters Palazzo Donizetti with Artemest, where historic architecture hosts rooms reinterpreted through contemporary design. Furniture, lighting, and artisanal pieces come together to express a refined vision of modern living rooted in tradition. Further along, a more intimate setting focuses on materiality and detail, where heritage and craftsmanship are explored through tactile compositions. The experience concludes with a striking installation where glass becomes architectural, playing with light, transparency, and texture to redefine space.
This walking tour unfolds through an elegant district where historic palazzi and refined storefronts become the backdrop for a series of highly curated design experiences. The journey begins inside one of Milan’s most iconic towers, Torre Velasca, rising above the city skyline. On its upper floors, two exhibitions explore modernism from different perspectives: one juxtaposes historical and contemporary works, revealing a richly decorative, identity-driven vision, while the other traces a designer’s journey across continents, highlighting his influence on modern furniture and architecture.
The route then continues into a multi-storey building transformed into a vibrant design hub: Convey. Each level reveals a different atmosphere, where international brands, exhibitions, and cultural programming coexist. Visitors move through a sequence of curated spaces that range from product showcases to immersive environments, all connected by a cohesive visual identity and a strong sense of community. A panoramic terrace offers a moment of pause, opening up views over the city and reinforcing the space as a meeting point between local and global design cultures.
The final stop introduces a more domestic dimension, where a site-specific installation reimagines contemporary living. Modular furniture, lighting, and objects are arranged to create a tactile, expressive interior, where bold forms and refined materials come together. The space invites visitors to reflect on how design shapes everyday life, closing the tour with an intimate yet impactful experience.
This walking tour explores a more intimate and experimental side of Milan, where design enters domestic spaces, ateliers, and hybrid environments. It begins at Redduo Galleria, a “domestic gallery” where an apartment is transformed into a tactile, atmospheric setting. Here, objects and materials reflect a research-driven approach to wellbeing and sensory experience, blurring the boundary between living and exhibiting.
Along the way, a brief stop outside a historic café reveals a striking intervention that reinterprets one of the city’s most iconic rituals, turning it into a playful encounter between fashion, design, and local culture. The route continues to Casaornella, where the home becomes a fluid, ever-changing organism. Spaces open without rigid divisions, encouraging interaction and redefining how interiors are experienced.
Further on, craftsmanship takes center stage through a dialogue between materials, where ceramics and metal form sculptural compositions that elevate everyday rituals.
The tour then explores immersive surfaces, where walls become dynamic architectural elements through modular systems and textures. It concludes with an installation that plays with perception, using ultra-light materials to challenge ideas of weight and form.
