Christmas at Marchesi 1824 begins in the Laboratory, where a much-loved symbol of the season takes shape in chocolate. Designed as a moment to enjoy together, this festive atelier brings children and adults closer to the craftsmanship behind one of the Maison’s most playful creations.
After a sweet welcome refreshment, guests will be introduced to the chocolate rocking horse: an exclusive Marchesi 1824 creation waiting to be dressed for the occasion. Under the guidance of Pastry Art Director Diego Crosara and his team, each participant will add decorative touches and festive accents, gradually bringing their own version to life.
All materials are provided on site, leaving space simply to slow down, experiment and enjoy the magic of Christmas through pastry. Once complete, every rocking horse will be carefully placed in its Marchesi 1824 packaging, ready to bring home, enjoy or share.
Pastry Art Director at Marchesi 1824, Diego Crosara brings decades of technical mastery and creative vision to one of Italy’s most prestigious pastry houses. A world champion pastry chef and gelato master, he combines deep expertise with a refined sense of style, developing new pastry, chocolate, and gelato collections that embody the brand’s heritage of excellence.
Since joining Marchesi 1824 in 2018, Crosara has overseen the creation of signature products and personally curated new boutique openings in Italy and abroad, ensuring the brand’s growth while upholding the principles of quality and excellence that have defined Marchesi 1824 for nearly two centuries. Every detail reflects the Maison’s enduring commitment to craftsmanship, elegance, and innovation.
Located in Via Orobia 3, the Marchesi 1824 Laboratory is a historic workshop, filled from early morning with the scent of artisan pastry. Four dedicated spaces bring the Maison’s craft to life: the bakery, the fresh pastry section, the chocolate atelier and the decoration area.
Here, breads and leavened pastries, daily mignons and cakes, refined chocolate creations and finely decorated desserts are made with meticulous care. It is a place where time-honoured techniques are transformed into the flavours of today.
Since 1824, Marchesi 1824 has embodied Milanese style through exceptional pastry, elegant settings and impeccable service. Founded by the Marchesi family in an eighteenth-century building on Via Santa Maria alla Porta, the Maison blends tradition, creativity and meticulous craftsmanship. Its creations — from pastries and chocolates to the iconic Milanese panettone — are made with carefully selected ingredients and enduring attention to detail. Today, Marchesi 1824 welcomes a cosmopolitan clientele at its historic Milan address, in Via Monte Napoleone and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, in London at 117 Mount Street and online. Part of the Prada Group, it remains a destination for everyday rituals and special occasions alike.
